The Man with the Iron Fists
At
times the inexperienced hand of writer\director\star RZA manifests in a
clumsiness that threatens to drown the film, but that grindhouse
rawness is also refreshing, and the movie is never less than fervent and
reverential towards its inspirations. Certainly not for everyone, but
if an unapologetic martial arts fantasy that is part Shaw Brothers, part
Leone, part Staten Island hip hop culture sounds appealing in the
least, put your Ws up, sit down, and witness a unique creative mind at
work putting his mark on a new medium. Wu Tang Forever.
